Wi-Fi And Free Wireless Internet Access To Hit Downtown Manchester, NH
Manchester, New Hampshire (USA)-/June 28, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Signull Technologies are preparing to unveil a free wireless network to downtown Manchester at a July 12 press conference to be held at City Hall. The Technology Committee of the Manchester Chamber has been working diligently over the last few months to introduce this service to downtown Manchester.
"We are proud to announce that, as of mid-July, you can take advantage of wireless Internet service in the downtown area of Manchester and it is absolutely free to use for one hour each day," said Chris Williams, Vice President of Economic Development and Advocacy for the Chamber. With this technology, Manchester will be one of only a few cities nationwide that is offering free wireless service to their local businesses and residents. If all goes well, the Chamber plans to expand the wireless service to other parts of the City.
Signull Technologies is currently installing the infrastructure for the service on the rooftops of key downtown buildings. "Our hat goes off to Signull Technologies. None of this would be possible without their assistance. They not only met the requirements for our Request for a Proposal, but they exceeded them by offering to sponsor the entire cost of the project and agreeing to offer a full hour of free service each day." (Signull Technologies, a company founded in Manchester, NH, in 2001, is now a division of Net Technologies, Inc of Salisbury, MA.) The service will be turned on at the upcoming press conference and will then be available for access anywhere on Elm Street between the Center of New Hampshire and the corner of Bridge and Elm Streets.
