Portal adds Frank Lee as Vice President, Customer Solutions, EMEA



CUPERTINO, CA -/July 20, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Portal Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSF) announced today the appointment of highly experienced IT executive Frank Lee to the post of vice president of Customer Solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Lee brings with him extensive knowledge and expertise in managing technology services organizations and in developing business solutions for leading European telecommunications service providers.

Previous roles include:

Vice President at HP, responsible for Services Sales into the telecommunications sector in Europe, driving major engagements with Service Providers and Network Equipment Providers;

General Manager of HP Consulting in the UK and Ireland;
Vice president of Services for a key software company in the telecommunications sector;
Managing Director Sema Group Consulting, Director of Energy Utilities and Telecommunications and Director of Professional Services; and

Partner at PA Consulting Group for systems in the telecommunications sector following a traditional in house career in IT.


In this newly created role, Lee heads the Portal Consulting division. This division is responsible for bringing leading services to market and assisting customers to ensure their strategies, technologies and delivery investments align with their long term revenue management visions.

Commenting on his new appointment, Lee said, ?Portal has long been regarded as a leader in providing billing and subscriber management technology; however, its customers are increasingly asking the Company to play a far bigger role in delivering complete revenue management solutions. As the industry evolves, the convergence of services, payments and operational entities is becoming a reality. Clients want Portal to help them better manage all of their revenue streams - coming in from customers through their financial systems, and out to their partners.?

Lee further added, ?My team will deliver solutions that leverage deep industry and functional knowledge together with focused expertise and delivery capabilities for Telco revenue management solutions. It will help customers develop, build and future proof their solutions, through a series of strategy and consulting, implementation, integration, support and application management services.?

Lee?s experience in the telecommunications industry covers all types of operation in most regions of the world; selling and delivering end-to-end services from strategy through to implementation.


Lee is also a qualified teacher and has lived in South Africa, the UK, Canada, South America and France.
