Windows & .NET Magazine Names Tech Ed 2003 Best of Show Finalists

LOVELAND, Colo.---/Wi-Fi Technology News/---May 31, 2003--Penton Media Inc.'s (Penton, NYSE: PME) Windows & .NET Magazine announced the finalists for the Tech Ed 2003 Best of Show Awards conducted by the magazine. Winners will be determined and announced at Tech Ed 2003 in Dallas, TX on June 4.



"The field included over 200 entries and the selection process was rigorous. We chose finalists based on the product's strategic importance to the market, its competitive advantages and the value to the customer. A total of 24 companies and 27 products were chosen as finalists," said Mike Otey, Senior Technical Editor for Windows & .NET Magazine.

The following companies were picked as finalists. The Messaging category finalists are Hypersoft Information System's OmniAnalyser, IXOS's eCONserver for Microsoft Exchange, and NetIQ's AppAnalyzer for Exchange. The Mobility category finalists are Citrix System's MetaFrame XP Presentation Server - Feature Release 3, Sprint/Hitachi's Hitachi G100 PPC/Phone, Synchrologic's Mobile Suite and Dell's Latitude D-Family Wireless Notebooks. The Collaboration and Productivity category finalists are Teamplate's Teamplate for .NET, Legato System's Replistor, Vmware's GSX Server, and Citrix System's MetaFrame Conferencing Manager. The Networking/Infrastructure category finalists are Unisys's ES7000/500, HP's NAS/SAN Fusion with Microsoft Exchange 2000, Aelita's ERDisk for Active Directory and NEC Solution's Express 5800/320Lb-R Server. The Security category finalists are eIQnetwork's Firewall Analyzer, Protocom's SecureLogin Password Management Suite, and Sanctum's AppShield. The Developer Tools category finalists are Altova's XML Spy 5.0, ProClarity's Analytics Platform, Crystal Decision's Crystal Reports, and ComponentOne's Studio Enterprise. The Management category finalists are Microsoft's MOM, NetIQ's AppManager Suite, BindView's bv-Admin for Windows, Heroix's eQ Management Suite and HP's OpenView Operations for Windows.
