Alcatel to provide ONO a Wi-Fi solution for the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia
Madrid-/07 September, 2004 - The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Alcatel has deployed for ONO an end-to-end Wi-Fi solution for the Royal Nautical Club at the Valencia seaport. From today on, all the visitors, users and future participants in the 32nd America's Cup will have access to a broadband connection at the venue of the tournament.
This solution offers a fiber and radio supported broadband connection, placing the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia in the vanguard of telecommunication technologies, offering value-added broadband service to its users.
Alcatel's Wi-Fi outdoor solution for the Valencia seaport, providing broadband connections to more than 300 users simultaneously, includes from network planning to putting into operation of the system, placing particular emphasis on security issues and access management. In order to fit out Wi-Fi access point systems, a mixed design with fiber-Ethernet converters has been developed, which guarantees the durability of the network due to its ability to support new value-added services in the future.
"For Alcatel the user is the centre of the telecommunications network. Therefore, technology must provide services where they are desired, either at home, at work, in leisure time or when travelling", pointed out Alfredo Redondo, President of Alcatel for Iberia and Latin America, and CEO of Alcatel España.
