Industry Veteran Brings Two Decades of Global Technology and Services Experience to Portal


CUPERTINO, CA -/14 September, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Portal Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSF) today announced that it has appointed accomplished consulting executive Rich Pople to the position of vice president of solutions delivery for the Americas.

Pople brings Portal extensive large-scale solution delivery expertise, comprehensive experience managing technology services organizations, and a successful track record of deploying business solutions for leading telecommunications service providers.


Pople joins Portal with 20 years of experience in IT, finance, and operations, including more than 10 years of management consulting leadership. He has led business-critical strategy, technology, and operations initiatives for some of the world?s largest companies including Vodafone, Mannesmann, Germany?s ePlus, Telia, Telkom Austria, and COLT Communications. Pople was most recently with Deloitte Consulting, where he was a lead partner in Deloitte?s technology integration practice. In his time at Deloitte, Pople also led Deloitte?s European IT strategies practice and enterprise connectivity services practice, which included EAI, integration, workflow, and web services.


Pople will be responsible for leading Portal Solutions Delivery division for customers in North and South America. This division brings leading services to market and helps customers ensure their strategies, technologies, and delivery investments align with their long-term Revenue Management objectives.

Pople?s experience in the telecommunications industry covers all types of operations in most regions of the world, and includes a proven track record of selling and delivering end-to-end services, from strategy through to implementation. Pople has authored numerous studies and white papers, including Beyond CRM: Next Generation CRM as well as Survey of North American Chief Information Executives?a Study of IT Behaviors That Drive Spending. Pople holds a bachelor?s degree in management science from Case Western Reserve University and a master?s degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
