Contec?s Hornet? System Installed at HKWDC; Application Developed in Record Time

Vancouver, Canada-/22 September, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-Contec Innovations (TSX Venture Exchange ? Symbol ?BUZ?) today announces that the Company has installed its Hornet DE mobile services delivery platform (MSDP) at Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre?s (HKWDC) facility at Cyberport in Hong Kong.

The Hornet system, hosted by HKWDC, is connected to 5 of the 6 carriers in Hong Kong and provides developers with an environment to develop and test applications within a carrier network. Any applications that are developed and tested successfully at HKWDC will be available over Contec?s Hornet Developer Network (HDN). With the HDN, mobile service providers and operators that have installed commercial Hornet systems will be able to select compelling applications from all of those available worldwide, and easily deploy them on their Hornet system.

Anthony Tang, HKWDC's Business and Operation Director comments, ?There is a large, innovative application development community in Hong Kong and they are keen to develop, test and then offer their wireless applications to the Hong Kong market, but also to China and foreign markets such as Canada. The Hornet system at HKWDC along with Contec's global presence now provides an excellent channel for this. We are pleased to be one of the first development centres established on Contec's global Hornet Developer Network. We look forward to working with Contec to become one of the world's centers of excellence and be the Asia hub for wireless application development.?

One of the first prototype applications was developed on the Hornet system in Hong Kong in record time. The prototype, developed for the blind, translates a text message into an audible message that can be heard by an individual that is visually impaired or that is suffering from loss of vision. The prototype took 90 minutes from idea to operation and demonstrates how quickly applications can be developed and put into service with the Hornet MSDP. Hornet Accelerator?, a feature of Contec?s Hornet DE system, made the rapid development of this application possible. Hornet Accelerator provides the tools to make application development on the Hornet faster and easier than ever before.

Contec Innovations is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol ?BUZ?.
