FCC's Wireless Telecommunication Bureau Has A New Legal Advisor



Washington, D.C. -/6 Oct, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- John Muleta, Chief of the FCC?s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, has announced that Nicole McGinnis will serve in the Office of the Bureau Chief as a Legal Advisor. Ms. McGinnis will advise the Bureau Chief and Deputies on wireless regulatory issues, focusing on matters before the Bureau?s Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure Division.

Prior to her current appointment, Ms. McGinnis served as an attorney-advisor in the Bureau?s Mobility Division, where she worked on policy and licensing matters involving commercial wireless services. Ms. McGinnis also served as an attorney-advisor in the Policy and Rules Branch of the former Commercial Wireless Division. Ms. McGinnis joined the Commission in 2002.

Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. McGinnis was an attorney with the law firm of Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP, where she specialized in communications law issues.
Ms. McGinnis received her A.B., magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College. She received her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School, where she was a Comment Editor for the University of Chicago Legal Forum.
