Dilithium Networks’ CTO to Speak at Mobile InfraTech

Larkspur, CA. -/19 Oct, 2004 - The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Dilithium Networks, a leading provider of 3G video telephony solutions for the world's mobile and broadband industries, announced that Dr. Marwan Jabri, its founder and CTO, will speak at Mobile InfraTech, the only event worldwide focusing entirely on mobile network infrastructure.
Mobile InfraTech addresses the current trend towards convergent architectures by adopting an inclusive policy that covers all mobile networking standards. Mobile InfraTech is co-located with the UMTS Congress, the world longest established event focusing on 3G networks, with over 5,000 participants over 8 years.

Dr. Jabri’s presentation will focus on value added applications which require transcoding technology in order to create communication between various protocols. Dilithium Networks’ patented transcoding technology, UnicodingTM, not only enables up to 500% improvement in channel densities of voice and video ports, but it also greatly enhances user experience by eliminating audio and video synchronization issues such as lip sync.

“Unicoding technology delivers seamless, efficient transcoding of voice and video. The Dilithium Networks’ DTG2000 gateway improves quality of user experience substantially by reducing delays, video corruption, and call connect times.” said Dr. Jabri.

Dr. Jabri is an authority in multimedia communications systems including voice and video coding and transcoding, and multimedia quality of service over narrow and broadband networks. He has performed extensive research and development in the integration of media communications protocols and their implementation inside real time systems. Dr. Jabri served on the ITU group that initially developed the H.324 and H.324M standard. This standard is now the basis of the videotelephony standard that is being deployed in the 3G networks around the world. He currently holds the Gordon and Betty Moore Chair at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Oregon Health and Sciences University.
