Ericsson Launches New MX-ONE Server-based Business Communication System


Ericsson MX-ONE offers business-class IP communications with guaranteed migration


-/15 Nov, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-Ericsson has launched its new MX-ONE server-based business communication system that will give enterprises several options for moving to converged IP-based multimedia communications ? without any need for expensive and disruptive ?forklift? upgrades. The first building block for the new platform is the MX-ONE Telephony System, available immediately.

The new MX-ONE server-based platform offers business-class telephony features along with integrated mobility, personalized communication capabilities and reliable, real-time collaboration for employees, wherever they happen to be.

Customers can move at a pace that suits them: there is no pressure to make forklift upgrades to get the benefit of a server-based platform.?

The MX-ONE solution has been designed to enable enterprises to evolve their communications systems to all-IP operation smoothly and at their own pace, with three migration alternatives.

The first option is to integrate the MX-ONE Telephony System into their existing MD110 systems. The server-based telephony engine offers all 500-plus business-class telephony features of the MD110 PBX and is fully supported by the existing MD110 management system and user applications.

The second option is for enterprises to upgrade their existing MD110 system progressively towards a complete MX-ONE architecture at their own pace.

The third option is to renew existing systems and take full advantage of the MX-ONE converged multimedia platform right from the start, while retaining existing MD110 investments in terminals and software features.

The MX-ONE Telephony System comprises a Linux-based telephony server and a media gateway that can be easily integrated into an enterprise?s existing IT infrastructure.

The remaining MX-ONE building blocks, to be released in 2005, include: MX-ONE Communications Organizer, which will offer a full suite of end-user applications, including instant messaging, presence services and IP-based operator workstation; MX-ONE Messaging, which will provide voicemail and unified messaging; MX-ONE Speech, which offers a range of voice-activated services; and MX-ONE Manager, a new active directory-based management platform. In addition, Ericsson?s award-winning Solidus eCare contact center suite will be fully integrated with the MX-ONE platform to offer customers complete multimedia customer care services.
