Enables websites, e-commerce sites and portals to become powerful interactive transaction-based communication systems, CD WOW! named as first customer - launches WOW-Talk! telephony service
-/22 Nov, 2004 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-OnInstant has launched OnCore! to allow companies to use the power of the OnInstant global internet business-to-business communications network by directly integrating it into their own websites, e-commerce sites and portals. Using OnCore! companies can simply and easily offer a fully-featured branded telephony service.
OnCore!, which acts like a ?white label? product and can be used for business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications, brings all the features of the recently-launched latest release of OnInstant - communication, collaboration and customer management, with the addition of rich media content delivery and additional customer management capabilities.
OnCore! harnesses the power of the OnInstant communications technology with XML broadcast to enable websites, e-commerce sites and portals to become powerful interactive transaction-based communication systems. This allows the formation and development of much closer and productive relationships with customers and partners through the provision of voice- and web-enabled value-added services.
CD WOW!
The first customer for OnCore! is CD WOW!, the leading European online entertainment store www.cd-wow.com, that will be using the product to deliver an entirely new customer service ? WOW-Talk!. WOW-Talk! will offer customers an unlimited worldwide telephony service for ?1.99 (?2.99) per month. Alongside standard person-to-person communication, customers will be able to talk to more than two people at once, leave free voicemails and send free text messages to each other. A free month trial will be offered initially to the 2 million registered CD WOW! members.
According to Phil Robinson, managing director of CD WOW!, ?The WOW! brand has become synonymous with outstanding value and this move into telephony continues our objective of offering the consumer the best deal. We have proven this with CDs and DVDs, beauty products, online DVD rental and now telephony. We are convinced that our customers will embrace this new service with enthusiasm.?
Combining documents and voice
A document broadcast facility has been integrated into OnCore!. This allows documents to be pushed during a communications call and shared, so enriching any voice conversation. This application is ideal for training, conference and customer service applications.
?We expect OnCore! to revolutionise the way business is conducted online,? said Nick Ogden, chairman and chief executive of OnInstant and founder of the WorldPay global internet commerce payments system. ?It will allow a much closer relationship to develop between companies and their customers. For instance, Jupiter Research has shown that twice as many people would buy over the Web if they could talk, not type ? we make the dream of getting through to this potential customer-base a reality for online retailers worldwide.?
A fully integrated portal management system is available as an additional cost option with OnCore!. Functions of this system include: website/intranet/extranet creation; centralised system management; advanced content management; rapid scalability; sophisticated categorisation systems; integration with legacy systems; multilingual functionality and modular build.
As such, OnCore! can enable a myriad of portal applications. These include: Web marketplaces; franchise and hotel chain software; multi-channel marketing; sales order processing; logistics; inventory control; customer acquisition, management and retention.
OnCore! pricing starts from just ?1000 per month for 1000 customer accounts.
