SANTA CLARA, Calif. ? June 10, 2003 ? TiECon 2003, the world's largest entrepreneurial conference with over 2500 attendees, today announced that Bluesocket Inc., (http://www.bluesocket.com) the leading vendor of open-systems Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) management and security solutions, was selected for ?Best Indoor/Campus Wireless Company.?
The TiECon 2003 Spotlight is an invitation-only forum where world industry leaders, veteran entrepreneurs, and business visionaries work together to single out and recognize new and upcoming companies for their ingenuity, management, and entrepreneurial wealth.
"The current market conditions have forced entrepreneurs and their companies to be extremely inventive and creative. This year we expected a very tight and close competition. To say the least, this year's Spotlight was an exciting event and one that will be remembered,? said Vish Mishra, Convener of TiEcon 2003.
A total of six Spotlight companies vied for the Spotlight award in the Indoor/Campus Wireless (WLAN) category. Companies included Aruba Networks, Bluesocket, Pronto Networks, ReefEdge, SiNett, and Wideray.
The panel discussion on wireless LANs that preceded the awards presentations included several industry leaders who helped determine the award selection. Distinguished panel members included senior executives from Cometa, Microsoft, Cisco, Gateway and Intel Capital.
"Our brazen, talented, inventive and creative team has worked hard for years to achieve this much deserved recognition by industry leaders,? said Eric Janszen, Bluesocket CEO. ?They were surprised by the maturity and sophistication of our products, the depth and breadth of our reseller channel and the vast number of brand name reference accounts across key vertical markets that other WLAN vendors are only now discovering as important.?
The TiECon 2003 Spotlight centers on the game of business - despite down market conditions only the most brazen and talented survive. Winning the game of business takes dedication and inner strength beyond what most consider impossible. TiE hopes to forward and recognize individuals and their companies that have the ability to make this happen.
TiECon 2003 was held on May 16-17 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
