First CDMA450 network in Argentina follows ZTE wins in Brazil and Venezuela




-/25 Jan, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-ZTE Corporation, China?s largest telecommunications manufacturer, announced today that Argentina is to receive its first CDMA450 network following a contract agreed between operator CoTeCal (Co-operative Telefonica Calafate) and ZTE.

ZTE will provide a total solution of network infrastructure and terminals to support the project, which will give users various services including voice, G3 fax and high ratio packed data. The contract was signed at a special ceremony held by CoTeCal in Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina. The state secretary of Telecommunications, Mr. Guillermo Moreno, the state secretary of Tourism, Mr. Enrique Meyer, the chairman of CNC, Ceferino Namuncur?, the President of Fecosur, Mr. Antonio Roncoroni, and the commercial counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Wang Chuanxin, were present.

?This new contract marks a further strengthening of ZTE?s market position in South America and we look forward to delivering this flagship network for Argentina,? said Mr Ding Mingfeng, VP of ZTE Corporation.

ZTE has already deployed 20 million lines of CDMA equipment for more than 50 operators in over 40 countries including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Egypt, Indonesia, Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya, India, Indonesia and Vietnam. ZTE?s CDMA450 equipment has been used around the world, in Russia, Norway, Venezuela and Brazil, among other countries.


ZTE will be showing its leading mobile solutions at next month?s 3GSM World Congress in Cannes (stand no. H1&H2, hall 3, at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, 14-17th February 2005).
