Boingo Announces Roaming Agreement With Swiss Wi-Fi Provider Monzoon Networks

Airports, hotels and train stations in 41 cities are among more than 266 hot spots added to the Boingo® Roaming System

SANTA MONICA, California -/1 Feb, 2005 - The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Boingo Wireless announced a roaming agreement with Monzoon Networks AG, Zurich, to add more than 266 Swiss hot spots to the Boingo® Roaming System.

The agreement includes hotspots in key business travel locations, including the airport in Zurich and the lounge of Swiss International. Air Lines in Geneva. Other locations include hotels in key Swiss cities, as well as conference centers, shops, restaurants, and all McDonald's restaurants nationwide.

The Monzoon network is expected to grow to more than 300 locations by the end of 2005. Boingo's growing European network now includes 19 European countries totaling nearly 7,000 hot spots under contract.

"Expanding our network in Switzerland is critical because it is such a hub for international business and travel," said Colby Goff, vice president of network strategy for Boingo. "We are glad to have Monzoon as a hot spot partner because they are innovators and they share our belief in providing a high-quality roaming experience for Wi-Fi users."

Monzoon is a network operator building a neutral Wi-Fi network, and wholesaling that network to roaming partners like Boingo, who, in turn, offer services to end-user customers. Monzoon is one of the first companies focused on building a public Wi-Fi network targeted at key business centers including airports, business hotels, conference centers and trade fairs.

"Monzoon Networks has successfully carved out a niche in a billion-dollar business to serve the nomadic worker in Europe with high-speed and secure hot spots that complement GPRS and UMTS services," said Matthias Koch, Monzoon chief executive officer. "Becoming part of the Boingo Roaming System will help further our strategy by ensuring that the networks we build are open to the largest possible number of users."

Boingo gives business travelers the best choice of Wi-Fi hotspots by combining the locations of more than 85 leading Wi-Fi operators into one worldwide network, and allowing the user to roam onto any of these locations with a single subscription using Boingo's free Wi-Fi client software. The company is the leading Wi-Fi integrator with a network of more than 12,000 Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide.

Boingo also partners with service providers to allow their users to access these hot spots through its Boingo Platform Services program. The program provides partners with access to this network, customized client software, and a full suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services to allow them to offer their own Wi-Fi service quickly and cost effectively. To date, the company has announced Platform Services partnerships with Earthlink, Fiberlink, Infonet Services Corp., MCI and Telecom Italia.
