Mobile Interactive TV and UMTS Service Provider conVISUAL Growing Strong
Oberhausen, Germany-/9 Feb, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- conVISUAL closed the 2004 financial year with record results. Because of strong in-creases in revenue in the areas of interactive TV services and mobile content licenses, conVISUAL continued its strong growth trend of previous years. The biggest growth seg-ment included comprehensive SMS services for leading TV broadcasters, production com-panies and marketing service providers. And, conVISUAL?s substantial development and expansion in the MMS service market in 2004 was particularly positive.
In 2002 and 2003 it developed slowly, but made a considerable contribution to conVISUAL?s financial results last year. In this market, conVISUAL managed to strengthen its leading role by expand-ing its offerings of services and contents for new UMTS network. conVISUAL?s customer base consists of leading telecommunication operators, device manufacturers, TV media companies, publishing houses and production companies. With its product and service portfolio, conVISUAL is represented in 10 European and Asian Pacific countries, reaching more than 200 million mobile users.
In 2005, conVISUAL plans to continue focus in the converging market segments of the media and telecommunications industry, and to push the introduction of multimedia ser-vices into mass-market distribution channels. Besides expanding its successful SMS busi-ness, conVISUAL will continue to take a leadership role in the wide utilisation of MMS and video applications.
At this year?s 3GSM World Congress, from 14 to 17 February, in Cannes, conVISUAL is focusing its presentation on ?Mobile Interactive TV? and ?Mobile Entertainment Content for the 3G Market?. The Mobile Interactive TV portfolio that it will be presenting includes voting and response services, SMS2TV, MMS2TV and on-screen games. And the Mobile Entertainment portfolio that it will be presenting includes some of Hollywood?s greatest movie scenes on mobile phones. The list of movies includes comedies, such as "American Pie" and "Dumb and Dumber", action films, such as "Terminator 2" and "Jurassic Park", as well as the cult films "E.T.", "Jaws" and "Back to the Future", to name but a few.
Dr. Thomas Wolf, CEO of conVISUAL, is looking forward to conVISUAL?s participation in the 3GSM World Congress: ?conVISUAL is well prepared for the anticipated development in the market for mobile multimedia services. Our innovations in the area of attractive UMTS contents confirm our leadership position as a key link between the converging markets of the telecommunications and the media industry.?
