Cypriot mobile operator, Areeba, joins Comfone's Key2roam broker platform

Cypriot mobile operator, Areeba, joins Comfone's Key2roam broker platform

Innovative broker solution for roaming experiences considerable growth just one year since launch

Bern, Switzerland/3GSM World Congress, Cannes, France, -/14 Feb, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Comfone, leading provider of roaming services to mobile operators in over 100 countries worldwide, today announced Areeba as the latest operator to join Comfone's Key2roam roaming platform, further extending Key2roam's international roaming footprint and reconfirming the solution's endorsement within the GSM community.

The innovative broker solution allows an operator access to all roaming partners already commercially roaming via Key2roam once a single roaming agreement and bilateral roaming relation with Comfone has been concluded. As a result, the complexities of multiple and recurring IREG and TADIG tests and repetitive roaming coordination administration are greatly reduced, ensuring mobile operators fast and efficient connection to operators worldwide, all through one single contract and without any change to existing signalling and clearing standards and practices. Operators also benefit from SMS/MMS interconnection with Key2roam roaming partners.

Areeba, the latest operator to join the Key2roam community, is enjoying considerable success as the first private operator in Cyprus. Since being granted a mobile licence in December 2004, Areeba has launched its GSM and 3G networks and is currently growing by an average of 200 new subscribers daily.

Daniel Heutschi, Director of Business Development at Comfone said, ?Our Key2roam broker solution offers a perfect opportunity for a new operator like Areeba to focus its attention on the core requirements of rolling out and starting a new network, leaving the complexities of roaming - and roaming revenue generation - to our Key2roam solution and Comfone?s unparalleled experience in the roaming field.?

Since launch at the 3GSM World Congress 2004 in Cannes, the broker concept has achieved widespread approval and take-up by operators across the globe. Key2roam roaming partners are now established in Europe, South America, Asia Pacific, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Comfone is set to sign up many more customers to Comfone Key2roam and the operator footprint is anticipated to experience rapid growth throughout 2005.
