Lucent Licenses Ulticom?s Signalware for Wi-Fi Wireless LAN Integration

Solution will Offer Seamless WLAN Access Services Integrated with GPRS/UMTS Networks

Cannes, France-/14 Feb, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- At the 3GSM World Congress conference, Ulticom, Inc. (NASDAQ: ULCM), the premier provider of signaling software solutions, today announced that Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) will integrate Ulticom?s Signalware product into its NavisRadius(TM) AAA Server to offer a complete SIM-based WLAN access solution to their mobile service provider customers.

This new offering will enable advanced authentication services through access to mobile operators? SS7 networks to provide end-to-end, secure SIM-based Wi-Fi access.

Signalware facilitates WLAN authentication and authorization services by providing Lucent?s NavisRadius AAA Server with access to subscriber profile and policy information stored within the mobile operator?s SS7 network. Signalware will integrate seamlessly with NavisRadius, enabling control via a remote graphic interface for server management and operational functions.

Signalware?s high reliability and network interoperability proven through more than 2,000 deployments in over 300 carrier networks promote confidence in the solution. The combination of the NavisRadius AAA Server and Signalware creates a robust system which addresses multiple authentication needs on a single, high performance platform thus helping to reduce equipment costs, training expenses, and the time needed to deploy new applications and services.

"Wireless LAN access is a powerful extension to existing mobility services," said Osman Duman, vice president of marketing at Ulticom. ?This solution will allow mobile service providers the ability to leverage their existing network infrastructure and operational support systems to offer a new range of revenue-generating mobile broadband services to business subscribers.?
