    ZTE TO SHOWCASE WORLD-CLASS SOLUTIONS AT BRAZIL TELEXPO 2005



    -/25 Feb, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-ZTE Corporation, China?s largest telecommunications manufacturer and a fast-growing supplier across South America, will showcase its wide range of world-class fixed and wireless solutions at Brazil?s 15th annual Telexpo, March 1-4.



    On show at the ZTE stand (Blue pavilion G03) will be solutions covering CDMA-EVDO, 3GSM Mobile Communications Solutions, PCS (Personal Communication Systems), Converged Optical Transport Networks, broadband systems and ZTE handsets, including the F808, the world?s smallest 3G handset.

    ?Brazil is an important market in which we have already had significant success,? said Edson M?lo, Manager at ZTE?s Brazil office. ?We want to show that we can provide complete, customized, competitive solutions across all of South America.

    ?ZTE?s CDMA technology has already been installed in Brazil and Argentina and we have supplied handsets worth USD100million to the country?s CDMA operator, VIVO. We have also supplied the people of Santiago with our GSM WLL (Wireless Local Loop) technology. We are pleased to be back at Telexpo and are looking forward to showing our leading solutions.?

    In December 2002, ZTE signed a contract with Brazil operator TELEMAIS to use ZTE?s CDMA2000 1x technology to build a network covering 11 major cities. In December 2004 ZTE won a contract with leading operator TRANSAM to supply Chile?s capital city, Santiago, with a state-of-the-art GSM-WLL system. Also, Argentina is to receive its first CDMA450 network following a contract agreed between operator CoTeCal (Co-operative Telefonica Calafate) and ZTE.

    ZTE Corporation and its subsidiaries recorded contract sales of US$4,111 million (approximately RMB34 billion) from 1 January 2004 to 31 December 2004. Of these contract sales, US$1,644 million (approximately RMB13.6 billion) was attributable to international sales, representing a year-on-year increase of 169.5%. Sales of handsets for the year 2004 exceeded 10 million sets, up 100% over the previous year. ZTE has achieved significant growth in both domestic and overseas markets. To date, ZTE has developed into one of China?s fastest growing telecommunications manufacturers with the most robust development in the past years.
