Comic Relief Donations Set For Record High With The Surge of Mobile Technology

Comic Relief, UK -/11 March, 2005 - The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Mobile technology and wireless technology in particular are an added comfort when it comes to easy-chair and Arm-chair shopping, consequently, comic relief is expected to raise more funds this year than ever before. The UK's "Red Nose Day" as it is also known, where people will be having a laugh and raising funds for needy people worldwide.
Mobile networks, Telecommunication exchanges, Radio and TV Stations and other medias are expected to be jammed with phone calls, text messages and pledges of donations, Although donations usually start weeks before today (Friday 11 March), people's emotions and feelings will come to the surface and a climax starting today.
Amongst the major contributors is British Telecom (BT), itself a traditional supporter and contributor to comic relief, its dedicated workforce is probably anticipating the busiest day of the year, however, having seen them on our screens from one year to another, they will relish and rise to the occasion with their outrageous gigs and gags. Lenny Henry and Alistair Mcgowan count on BT 118 500 to raise money for Red Nose Day 2005, Calls to BT’s 118 500 directory enquiry service will help raise up to £250,000 for Comic Relief.
