Simtel Appoints Former CEO of Spatial Wireless As New Chairman
Simtel Expansion Continues with Appointment of Kjell S Andersson, Former President & CEO of Spatial Wireless
CTIA, New Orleans-/16 March, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-Simtel, the world-leading provider of innovative and effective solutions for real-time Quality of Service (QoS) network monitoring of 2, 2.5G and 3G networks, announced that Kjell S Andersson has accepted an offer to become Chairman of the board.
Simtel has rapidly claimed a credible position in the development of revenue-enhancing monitoring solutions for both fixed and wireless networks. Most recently, it announced that GSM operators have the ability to generate an average of 22 per cent additional revenues on their existing networks. Based on statistics generated by its real-time QoS network monitoring tools, Simtel enables increased traffic and improved call handover, while reducing the number of dropped calls and sustaining longer call times, all achieved with no additional investment in network infrastructure.
Operators enjoy additional savings as their existing networks work harder. Less investment in additional sites, and therefore less maintenance, means reduced capital and operational expenditure.
Prior to joining Simtel, Andersson was President and CEO of Spatial Wireless, Inc., where he was responsible the growth of wireless service deployments. Andersson was also an Executive VP with Omnipoint Corporation and the President and CEO of Omnipoint Technologies, before which he spent 16 years with Ericsson where he serviced as Executive VP and General Manager for Ericsson Radio Systems AB in Stockholm, Sweden.
?Kjell?s appointment brings Simtel a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience in the wireless market,? commented Ali Pourtaheri, CEO of Simtel Technologies. ?At a time when Simtel is making significant advances in demonstrating how real-time QoS can deliver substantial revenue benefits, Kjell?s experience can only benefit us as we move more aggressively into the next phase of growth deploying our technologies with network operators worldwide.?
?Given the company?s unique technology offering and their ability to drive both Capex and Opex savings, I am delighted to be joining Simtel at such a vibrant time of growth,? added Andersson. ?I am proud to be joining a company with such an exciting and forward-thinking industry solution.?
Andersson holds a Master?s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a Diploma in Management from CEDEP, Fontainebleau, France.
