ZTE Launches Mobile Technology Factory and R&D Centre in India

ZTE OPENS MAJOR FACILITY IN INDIA?S EXPANDING TELECOMS MARKET

-/31 March, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-The opening of a flagship factory and R&D centre in India has been announced by ZTE Corporation (Shenzhen: 000063, Hong Kong: 0763), China?s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solution provider. The facility forms the centrepiece of ZTE?s ongoing commitment to the Indian market.

Located in Manesar near Gurgaon, the factory covers an area of more than 4,000 square meters and contains the latest hi-tech equipment. ZTE will use the facility to manufacture CDMA, GSM, DSL, and NGN equipment, as well as handsets.

?ZTE has been committed to the Indian market for several years,? said Mr. Zhang Renjun, ZTE?s VP of the South-Asian region. ?Our new facility will provide additional local support to our valued Indian customers, allowing us to better meet their requirements and expectations. I am confident that ZTE will become one of the largest telecommunication enterprises in this fast-growing market.

?We will achieve our long-term goals by staying close to our customers and partners and delivering excellent but cost-effective products, thereby bringing greater revenues to service providers.?

In recent years, India has maintained a sustained high economic growth rate, and its telecommunications industry has huge development potential. According to a study released by Ernst & Young, the Indian telecommunication network could become the second largest in the world in the next five years.

Earlier this year, ZTE reached an agreement with Atlas Interactive worth more than one billion Rupees. The contract involves supplying and commissioning a TVoIP network as the foundation for a range of triple-play services for subscribers. In 2003 ZTE signed a contract with BSNL, the biggest state owned telecom operator in India, to provide nationwide CDMA WLL equipment and solutions.
