Symbol Technologies Names Daniel L. Solito Senior Vice President
HOLTSVILLE, N.Y.--June 11, 2003--Symbol Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: SBL), a global leader in enterprise mobility solutions, today announced the appointment of Daniel L. Solito as senior vice president and worldwide business controller.
Solito reports to Mark T. Greenquist, senior vice president and chief financial officer, bringing a global perspective and a broad financial operations background to the Symbol team. Reporting to Solito are business unit finance organizations, which include the financial planning and analysis functions of worldwide sales, customer service, operations and Symbol product divisions. He is based at Symbol world headquarters in Holtsville, N.Y.
"Throughout his 20-year career, Dan has amassed a record of successful change leadership, helping transform numerous organizations into valued business partnerships. I look forward to working with Dan to install a comprehensive set of new financial controls and audit procedures that are consistent with the cornerstone role of integrity in our organization," said Greenquist.
Prior to his affiliation with Symbol, Solito served in a variety of global leadership roles with Cisco Systems, UB Networks and General Electric, in both finance and operations capacities. Most recently, he served as vice president of Cisco's worldwide service provider field operations, responsible for field education and development, communications, market intelligence, business planning for global service provider requirements and strategic planning.
Solito has extensive experience in financial management around the world including North America, Europe and Asia. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
