D-Link's Upcoming Firmware Provides 802.11g Standard Interoperability For All Existing D-Link 802.11G Draft-Compliant Wireless Products.

Irvine, CA, June 13, 2003 — D-Link, a worldwide leader in manufacturing of networking, broadband and digital electronic technologies, today announced that it will provide a simple, free firmware upgrade for its award-winning AirPlus Xtreme G and AirXpert A/G/B wireless networking product lines to bring them into full compliance with the newly finalized IEEE 802.11g standard.
The upgraded firmware will incorporate minor changes from the 802.11g specification that was recently finalized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Available by early-July, the standards-based firmware upgrade will be featured in shipping D-Link products and will be available at www.dlink.com to current users as a free firmware download.

"By implementing new firmware as the g draft standard developed, we have been able to stay current with each draft, so delivery of the now-final 802.11g standard specification will be a simple task," said Steven Joe, President of D-Link. "This new firmware upgrade will bring our D-Link Xtreme G wireless customers strict adherence to the new standard."

The D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G Wireless Networking solution provides up to 54Mbps bandwidth in the 2.4GHz frequency range, making the D-Link G solution a fast, flexible and scalable combination of speed and range. D-Link's AirPlus Xtreme G 802.11g wireless networking solution includes the AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 Wireless Router with 4-port switch, the AirPlus Xtreme G DWL-G650 Wireless CardBus Adapter, the AirPlus Xtreme G DWL-G520 PCI Adapter and the AirPlus Xtreme G DWL-2000AP Access Point.

The D-Link AirXpert A/G/B Wireless Networking solution provides the ultimate in network flexibility providing 54Mbps connectivity in both the 5GHz and the 2.4GHz frequency ranges, making the D-Link AirXpert A/G/B family of wireless products a fast, versatile and scalable solution for today's business environments.
