IP3 and BelAir to Provide Complete Carrier and Enterprise Wireless Solution

IP3 and BelAir to Provide Complete Carrier and Enterprise Wireless Solution

Integrated Solution Delivers Seamless Wireless Access Provisioning Backed by Carrier-Grade Wireless Broadband Infrastructure

SAN DIEGO, CA, and KANATA, Ontario-/June 13, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-IP3 Networks, a leading provider of access-control solutions for broadband networks, and BelAir Networks, the first company to offer scalable wide-area wireless broadband solutions for metro-scale deployments, today announced a joint marketing agreement to provide complete Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless hot zone solutions to carriers, service providers and systems integrators serving the public access, enterprise and metro markets.

The companies will jointly offer IP3?s NetAcess gateways and BelAir?s wide-area wireless networking infrastructure as a complete solution for enterprise organizations, metro-scale wireless broadband deployments and public venues such as hotels, resorts, and conference centers.

?The IP3 NetAccess gateways are a perfect complement for our wide-area wireless infrastructure,? said Phil Belanger, Vice President of Marketing, BelAir Networks. ?Working with IP3 enables us to provide our customers with an easy way to manage end user access and the complexities of larger Wi-Fi deployments that support the multiple applications possible with BelAir?s networking platforms.?

IP3 Networks provides large enterprises, carriers, and venue operators with the most flexible on-demand broadband access solutions in the industry. Through its unique "Multi-Layer Portal? technology, NetAccess gateways enable users to self-provision QoS, security level, billing type, and conditions of usage to fit their needs. This capability is easy to use and understand and requires zero device configuration from the user.

?IP3 is committed to its customers and recognizes the need for easy to use, yet secure Wi-Fi solutions. As an even wider range of users experience the benefits of IP3 NetAccess technology, including zero end-user device configuration and seamless interoperability with existing LAN infrastructure, we?re confident that our ?Multi-Layer Portal? approach will become an industry standard,? said Mike Lee, founder and vice president, business development and sales for IP3 Networks. ?Our products work seamlessly with BelAir?s wide-area Wi-Fi infrastructure and we can present BelAir?s full network capabilities in a meaningful way that supports thousands of users.?

In the growing enterprise Wi-Fi arena, IP3's NetAccess gateway solutions enable the deployment of multiple logical networks for mobile access -- guests, consultants, employees and affiliates -- without compromising corporate LAN integrity. IP3 helps IT staff configure features such as bandwidth, authentication mechanism, service offering, etc., on a per-subscriber or class of subscribers basis. In addition, NetAccess provides personalized web interfaces to each user, and directs them to the appropriate logical network with policy-driven QoS and security levels, billing mechanisms, type of IP addresses served, and terms and conditions of usage.

The IP3 Networks products work seamlessly with the BelAir200 Wireless Multi-service Switch Router, the BelAir100 Wireless Multi-service Node, and BelAir?s wireless, multi-service architecture to create networks that are optimized for data, voice and video services in high density hot zones and metro areas.

The BelAir200 is a four-radio, platform that enables wireless networks with the highest network capacity and broadest reach especially in challenging deployments such as high-density metro centers. The BelAir200 access radio modules use the 2.4 GHz band to support Wi-Fi client access. Separate backhaul radio modules use 5 GHz for the point-to-point links that form the wireless backhaul mesh that interconnects all of the BelAir200 nodes. The resulting system delivers unmatched capacity, security and scalability for metro applications.

The BelAir100 is a two-radio platform that accepts the same radio modules as the BelAir200. It can be used to terminate a BelAir mesh, as a mesh edge node, or to provide wireless broadband access to single buildings.

BelAir?s products are focused on wide-area Wi-Fi today, but the unique multi-radio wireless backhaul mesh architecture can also be applied to other wireless technologies such as WiMAX and cellular.
