Boingo In Wi-Fi Roaming Agreement With WideNet, Czech Republic

Boingo? Roaming System adds hotspots in popular restaurants, hotels and shopping center in capital city of Prague

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -/August 17, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Boingo Wireless announced a roaming agreement with WideNet, Ostrava, Czech Republic, to add its 36 Wi-Fi hotspots throughout Prague to the worldwide Boingo Roaming System.

Boingo?s first agreement in the Czech Republic includes hot spots in key business travel locations, such as restaurants, hotels and shopping centers throughout the city that are easily accessible for tourists and international business travelers.

?Prague is a major international destination and a key link in our strategy to build a European network that provides business travelers with convenient locations in all countries,? said Colby Goff, senior vice president of network strategy for Boingo. ?With WideNet as a partner, we know that we will be able to grow our network throughout the Czech Republic to keep up with user demand.?

?WideNet?s business is setting up hotspots at the outdoor and indoor points where the Prague visitor or resident can count on convenient Wi-Fi access. International roaming and clear marking of hot spot locations makes the difference between our network and countless WLAN networks throughout the country,? said Martin Stanek, CEO of WideNet.

Boingo gives business travelers the best choice of Wi-Fi hot spots in 50 countries by combining the locations of over 100 leading Wi-Fi operators into one worldwide network. Using a Boingo subscription and its free Wi-Fi client software, users can roam onto any of these locations. The company leads all Wi-Fi integrators with a network of more than 18,000 Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide.

Boingo also partners with service providers through the Boingo Platform Services program to allow their users to access these hot spots. The program provides partners with access to this network, customized client software and a full suite of back-office billing, roaming, mediation and clearinghouse services to allow them to offer their own Wi-Fi service quickly and cost effectively. To date, the company has announced Platform Services partnerships with BT Infonet, Earthlink, Fiberlink, Nextel Communications, MCI, and Telecom Italia.
