Zoom Announces New Wi-Fi Wireless-G Products

Zoom Announces New Wi-Fi Wireless-G Products

BOSTON, MA -/September 26, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Zoom Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOM) announced the expansion of its wireless-G product line with the shipment of three new Wi-Fi(R) products -- a USB adapter, a PC Card for notebook users, and the AP+2. The AP+2 is a wireless access point which can also be used as a game adapter to provide wireless connectivity for PlayStation(R) and Xbox(R) users, and as a repeater to extend the range of a wireless network.

Zoom designed these products with three things in mind -- performance, ease of use, and international compatibility.

The Zoom Wireless-G products not only provide the latest 802.11g 54 Mbps technology, but also incorporate proprietary enhancements that can dramatically improve throughput performance, providing effective speeds up to 140 Mbps when communicating with another Zoom Wireless-G device. Zoom Wireless-G products can be used in 802.11b and 802.11g networks, and in mixed networks using both technologies. Because Zoom's Wireless-G products are based on the 802.11 standard, they work well in networks that include products from Belkin(R), D-Link(R), Linksys(R), Netgear(R), Zoom(R) and other producers of 802.11 products.

All products in the Zoom Wireless-G line include multi-lingual documentation in seven languages, and meet the regulatory requirements for wireless products in the US, Europe, and most of the rest of the world.

The Wireless-G line provides the perfect complement to Zoom's full-featured X6 ADSL 2/2+ modem with built-in 802.11g. The X6 also incorporates a router, 4-port switch, and powerful SPI firewall to provide a complete connectivity solution for ADSL users.

Zoom Wireless-G products support both WEP and WPA wireless security to help eliminate network intrusion, and are backed by Zoom's 2-year manufacturer's warranty and excellent U.S.-based technical support.
