Siemens To Report On New Broadband Consumer Services And Their Potential
Siemens ICN: Carriers find new ways to grow
-/September 28, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-At the Broadband World Forum Europe in Madrid, Spain, Siemens Communications will report on new broadband consumer services and their potential for generating additional operator business.
In the last years much operator investment has gone into building and expanding broadband access infrastructures for consumers, e.g. based on xDSL, coax, leased lines or fibre. However the most widely used services across these new networks are still internet access, email and banking. Yet these services are not generating the revenues the operators need to recoup their investment and the growth opportunities they need. This presentation reveals ideas and concepts for new residential services, their prospects and risks and discusses ways for evolving today’s networks.
This session will look into:
• The carrier business models behind those services and the differentiation they provide
• Technologies for implementing new services and risk involved in providing them (competitive issues, pricing, technology availability)
• Evolution paths for migrating existing voice services towards these new multimedia services
The presentation will be held October 4 at 3.45 p.m. (Palacio Municipal de Congresos).
