Jataayu Software Announces Mobile IMPS Server Public Beta
CTIA, US-/September 28, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Jataayu Software (Jataayu), a leading provider of mobile VAS infrastructure and terminal solutions announced making available a Beta version of its Instant Messaging & Presence Services (IMPS) platform for trials by the IMPS community.
The Public Beta will be available for trials from Oct 20, 2005. Registration will open on Oct 15, where users will need to complete a simple registration process. However, users can start pre-registering immediately on
http://www.jataayusoft.com by providing their email-id with a request for information. The service is planned to be kept available for a month, initially.
Jataayu is making available the IMPS server Beta with full CSP & SSP feature set support as per OMA IMPS ver1.2 specifications. The Client-Server Protocol (CSP) provides Presence-enabled or Instant Messaging clients access to Instant Messaging and Presence Services servers. Server-Server Protocol (SSP) provides the communication and interaction means between different Instant Messaging and Presence Services domains or different service providers.
"Interoperability testing is of critical importance in our ongoing IMPS messaging development process. In line with our vision for seamless mobile messaging, we are committed to delivering products that interoperate with the widest range of environments and devices, said Mr. L. Zunder, VP Product Development at Jataayu Software. "Jataayu believes a Public Beta would enable real-world extensive services and interoperability testing of its IMPS Server. This will provide an opportunity for Operators and Service providers to try out and experience mobile IMPS services. Given the current low penetration of IMPS capable handsets in the market, this will also provide a good platform for the wider IMPS community of handset makers, IMPS client & server vendors to further interoperability testing objectives.
Service interoperability between operators is a key factor for commercial deployment success and revenues. At the same time, verifying Client-Server interoperability towards major handset manufacturers and IMPS client vendors should go a long way in making IMPS clients more readily available on a larger number of mobile devices.
