Wi-Fi and Wireless Developer GPSI Announces New Licensing Team
NEW YORK, NY -/October 05, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- GPS Industries Inc. (OTC BB: GPSN), a leading innovator of Wi-Fi wireless and GPS-enabled multimedia communications and management solutions for golf facilities, resorts, sporting events and residential communities, today announced the formation of a team to address licensing its portfolio of intellectual property, including patents which cover the use of global positioning satellites (GPS) for distance measurement on golf courses.
The licensing team includes James C. McGill, a consultant who was instrumental in bringing the Pinranger technology to the United States in 1994. "Mr. McGill and this legal team in USA and abroad have the experience and contacts necessary for successfully pursuing these patents, and is a strong addition to the GPS Industries team," said Robert Silzer, Sr., President and CEO of GPSI.
Assisting Mr. McGill in the U.S.A. will be Mr. Tim Maloney from the law firm of Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery, based in Chicago, Illinois.
Working with Mr. McGill internationally will be Dr. Myles Jelf, Partner, of the London-based law firm Bristows, United Kingdom.
The licensing team will offer licenses to all companies in the covered countries.
"In 2004 we acquired the United States patent which addresses GPS distance measurement on golf courses from Optimal Golf Solutions. We also acquired patent rights in 16 foreign countries from Pinranger (Australia) Pty Ltd. In 2005 we planned to make licenses available to all suppliers of GPS distance measurement equipment provided for golf courses. We now have the team in place to affect those plans," states Silzer.
