Asian Event Dedicated To IPTV Will Take Place In Hong Kong
One of the first events in Asia dedicated exclusively to IPTV takes place next month in Hong Kong and has already attracted leading industry figures from across the region and beyond.
-/October 20, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-The IPTV Asia Forum is a two-day event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong November 28-29. It will cover all the major issues concerning the successful implementation of IPTV, including potential new revenue streams and the technologies to deliver them, bundling of services, security and digital rights management and risks involving piracy and illegal duplication.
“IPTV is the new frontier for telecoms convergence and with Asia’s high demand for latest technology solutions from users, the time is right for a forum to share experiences, and learn about the prospects, as well as the potential pitfalls,” said Asia Forum organiser Ian Johnson.
Among the presenters will be Paul Berriman, Head of Strategic Market Development at PCCW, one of Asia’s leading integrated communications companies. PCCW will also be demonstrating its Broadband IPTV service at the event. Other companies represented include HBO Asia, Fastweb, Chunghwa Telecom, NTT, Scientific Atlanta, Sony Pictures, ESPN, Bharti Tele-Ventures, MITV, City Telecom, Videonetworks, Microsoft TV and China Netcom.
“This show is unique. It will give a cross-country perspective on the Asia IPTV marketplace – with operators from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India and China all describing their roll-out experiences as well as roadmaps to further – or initial – deployment,” added Johnson.
