Consumer WLAN Segment Represents 59 Percent of the WLAN Market
Sales of Enterprise Infrastructure Devices Grow by Double-Digits, According to Synergy Research Group
RENO, NV -/November 15, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- According to Synergy Research Group's latest report, Q3 2005 WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) Worldwide Market Shares, the global WLAN market grew five percent sequentially and was up over 11 percent year-over-year.
According to expert market analysis by Synergy Research Group (SRG), Consumer WLAN Equipment sales were up three percent while Enterprise class WLAN equipment sales were up five percent. Further, the report shows that the Consumer WLAN segment represents the bulk of the opportunity worldwide, representing almost 59 percent of the total WLAN market.
"As anticipated, both Consumer and Enterprise WLAN equipment sales continued with growth across nearly all segments," said Aaron Vance, Senior Analyst at Synergy Research Group. "Additionally, SRG noted accelerating sales of Enterprise Switches/Controllers and 'Light' Access Points, which combined to reach nearly $100 million in the quarter."
