WIND AWARDS ITALIAN 3G QUALITY INITIATIVE TO COMMPROVE
-/November 24, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Innovative Italian mobile operator WIND has selected network quality of service (QoS) monitoring experts CommProve to maximise the performance of its 3G network. WIND will integrate CommProve's GSP (General Statistical Package) into its network to deliver continuous performance measurements, information that will enable the network to be optimised to deliver maximum quality of service to WIND's 3G subscriber base.
The statistical reporting delivered by the CommProve GSP provides direct access to network performance measurements. This enables WIND to continuously monitor and adapt its Key Quality Indicators (KQIs), the rules by which quality levels are determined. The level of reporting enabled by the GSP is crucial in 3G networks where the quality of service depends on the operators' ability to continuously monitor and adapt the KQIs.
As WIND's mobile customer base continues to grow, so do the quality of service demands of those subscribers. The range of telecommunications services provided by WIND, which include fixed line and iMode, as well as Italy's leading Internet portal, means it is critical that each network performs at optimal level. CommProve's GSP solution enables WIND to guarantee the level of service quality delivered to their subscribers, ensuring a more satisfied customer base.
Adam Tarshis, Vice President of Business Consulting for CommProve, said: "We are seeing more and more operators looking to set solid and reliable quality levels. Today's mobile users expect nothing less. By integrating CommProve's GSP System, operators can meet those subscriber expectations while ensuring the network infrastructure not only remains robust, but has the flexibility to react to increased network traffic and the introduction of new applications."
CommProve's GSP System is a flexible and powerful performance management tool providing mobile operators with the capability to monitor and subsequently optimise their networks. The GSP System is specifically designed to handle complex multi-vendor and multi-technology networks.
It gives direct access to all measurements produced by network elements, providing the system's users with full control in defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and KQIs. This flexibility is particularly crucial in 3G networks where the deployment of a complete new infrastructure supporting new value added services needs continuous monitoring and adaptation of the KQIs.
CommProve's GSP System can be integrated with the company's Netledge portfolio of products. These provide network operators with real time, relevant and accurate information on network performance based on direct subscriber experience. Netledge enables operators to take immediate action to resolve issues and minimise revenue leakage as well as improving the quality perceived by the end user.
About CommProve
CommProve is a world-leading developer of real-time (24x7) Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring for both mobile and fixed networks. CommProve's NetledgeT portfolio of hardware and software solutions helps operators identify areas of revenue loss, due to unacceptable QoS. And, by ensuring optimal network QoS, CommProve also enables operators to focus on new service introductions that will ultimately drive increases in ARPU.
