Sasken Communication Technologies signs Agreement With IXI Mobile

-/December 14, 2005 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Bangalore, India Sasken Communication Technologies announced today that it has signed a license agreement with IXI Mobile to use the IXI-Connect OST Technology. With IXI-Connect OST now as part of its offerings, Sasken is poised to be a major provider of Application Framework Solutions.

Sasken identified the need for a truly flexible and modular framework solution, so as to enable it to be a one-stop-shop for mobile software solutions. IXI-Connect OST Technology was a natural choice for Sasken, as its architecture and construct was aligned with Sasken's own product philosophy of providing its phone customers with modular, scalable and pre-integrated complete solutions that help them to develop devices faster.

Further to this agreement Sasken will combine the IXI-Connect OST with existing Sasken IP to offer its customers a competitive solution in terms of footprint, price and performance. This will enable solutions across a wider range of phone categories and customer segments. In addition, Sasken has established with support from IXI Mobile an Israel-based design centre, extended with a team in Kiev, Ukraine.

The key value of the Sasken Application Framework to phone manufacturers will be its completeness and extensive tool suite, as well as the architectural flexibility that supports different silicon architectures, protocol stacks and phone configurations. From an operator perspective the solution will enable them to drive reusability and to deliver a customized look and feel on the go. Sasken now has a large team of engineers committed to the Application Framework Product Line spread across its engineering centers in India, Israel and Kiev.

Dr G. Venkatesh, CTO, CSO & Head of Products Division at Sasken said: "By adding IXI-Connect OST to our offering portfolio, together with the world class engineering team that conceptualized and built this solution, we have created a strong foothold in this space. We are committed to investing extensively in the Application Framework Product Line to make it the best in its class.

"The IXI-Connect OST Technology combined with Sasken's proven capabilities in Multimedia Systems and Protocol Stacks will help us to offer our customers truly flexible and reusable total software solutions backed by our unique ability to support customers across the world in their integration activities."

Amit Haller, IXI CEO: "IXI Mobile is very pleased that IXI-Connect OST product is now an integral part of the Sasken Application Solution portfolio and will continue to be available to customers. This combined with Sasken's existing core competencies will be an immense value to phone manufacturers."
