Cipherium Launches Affordable, Scalable Wireless Service Controllers

Flexible, cost-effective solution for quickly setting up a secure and hassle-free wireless network

-/April 13, 2006 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-Cipherium offers advanced M-series Wireless Service Controllers for effective management of Public/Guest Access, delivering easy-to-use wireless network management tools and centralized architecture.

The M-series solution enables painless wireless deployment that is both flexible and scalable, designed to fulfill demands of different network environments: from small-size businesses to large-scale wireless service operations.

Cipherium M-series solution consists of a remote central Network Control System NCS20 and a line of Wireless Service Controllers -- M6000, M5000, M3000, M1000 -- each can work independently and, even better, they can also cooperate as "a flexible team" to accommodate a variety of environments. This advantage allows customers to start off establishing the WLAN with one Wireless Service Controller in a single location, and easily scale up their network deployments by combining other Controllers to serve users across multiple locations while all the Controllers can be remotely centrally managed by NCS20.

The M-series solution implements sophisticated management schemes that cover both user and device management domains. The role-based access control approach defines and enforces network usage policies on a per user basis to control which users are entitled to which service levels. In addition, M-series provides the role-based management for access points (APs) such as scheduled access time and assigned bandwidth to allow efficient network resources allocation. With the unique centralized AP management functions, administrators can remotely configure, update, and monitor all managed APs from a unified secured Web interface, and from there, gain full control of entire wireless network.

The comprehensive built-in comprehensive sets of service levels of the M-series include Access Control (based on user type, location, and time frame), Accounting (based on time, data volume, and available bandwidth), and On-Demand, Instant Guest Account Generation. Moreover, third-party application servers for multi-media, VoIP, or other services can also be connected to the Controllers to be effectively delivered to the designated clients - all are under centralized management of M-series Wireless Service Controllers. Furthermore, by adopting the latest wireless and security standards such as IEEE 802.1 b/g, WPA2, and IEEE 802.1x, the M-series ensures privacy and security of end-to-end network communication.
