Global WLAN Solutions Provider Credits Success to Innovative Technologies that Meet Customer Needs

London -/October 25, 2006 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Meru Networks, the global innovation leader in wireless infrastructure for the All-Wireless Enterprise, announced that it has been listed in the Visionaries Quadrant in the Wireless LAN version of Gartner’s well-known industry report, the Gartner Magic Quadrant[1]. The new report, released October 6, 2006, evaluates wireless LAN vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

According to Gartner, a Visionary demonstrates an ability to increase features in its offering to provide a unique and differentiated approach to the market. A Visionary will have innovated in one or more of the key areas of WLAN technologies (convergence, security, management or operational efficiency).

According to Gartner's 2005 technology-adoption survey, published on March 23, 2006[2], “Wireless e-mail and campus-wide wireless LAN have migrated to mainstream deployment and are rated as having high organizational value by most that have used them.” The report also stated, “Organizations that are not yet using these technologies should immediately evaluate their potential.”

“Wireless LAN (WLAN) technologies have matured… WLANs are becoming a standard part of enterprise networks. They are no longer confined to meeting rooms or visitors areas; they are now being deployed to cover entire facilities,” states the Gartner, Inc. October 6 Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure report.

“It is very gratifying to have both Meru’s vision and execution strategy validated, in our opinion, by Gartner, an organization long recognized for its IT vision,” said Ihab-Abu Hakima, President and CEO of Meru Networks. “Meru is fully committed to driving innovative solutions into this market in response to customer needs. Customers worldwide have enthusiastically embraced Meru’s wireless LAN platform and reaped the ROI and productivity benefits of our innovative architecture. The result has been a dramatic increase in customer deployments of Meru’s infrastructure solutions for the All-Wireless Enterprise – a trend that we believe is accurately captured by Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant.”
