RoamAD and Omera in Muni Wi-Fi OEM Deal

SAN FRANCISCO-/February 20, 2007 - Wi-Fi Technology News/-RoamAD, supplier of the most advanced platform for converged citywide Wi-Fi and public safety networks, and Omera, Inc., a vendor and owner of citywide and campus Wi-Fi networks, today announced Omera has licensed RoamAD’s wireless networking platform enabling it to create its own network solution for the fast-growing muni Wi-Fi market.

Under the multi-million dollar deal, RoamAD’s software will power OmeraMesh®, Omera’s new turnkey infrastructure-mesh Wi-Fi solution, that it will supply to North American municipalities and campuses.

“RoamAD’s OEM partnership program was the enabler that Omera needed to deliver a best of breed muni-wireless mesh solution,” said David Bortenstein, VP Sales for Omera.

“Omera’s product development team spent months researching wireless companies. RoamAD came out on top for mobility, flexibility and upgradeability – making it the perfect fit for our diverse service model,” said Bobby Burrow, Omera’s CTO.

“Licensing RoamAD’s software platform was the only logical solution,” he added.

Omera will also fund the deployment of OmeraMesh® citywide Wi-Fi networks in cities and towns that meet Omera’s investment criteria for a public private partnership.

The Omera business model will accelerate the deployment of citywide Wi-Fi networks, allowing cities to enjoy the economic benefits of Omera’s multi-application wireless networks without the time, costs and uncertainty of a lengthy RFP process.

“Omera’s business model and partnership criteria will make it a stand-out choice for muni Wi-Fi hungry municipalities across North America," said Martyn Levy, CEO of RoamAD.

Omera has already deployed its first OmeraMesh® network and has a number of other cities under contract.
