EYEBALL anounces ICE SDK coverage of CableLabs PacketCable 2.0 IMS call completion specifications

Paris, France (International SIP Conference) -/February 27, 2007 - Wi-Fi Technology News/- Eyeball, the VoIP Call Completion? company, anounced complete coverage of CableLabs? PacketCable 2.0 firewall and NAT traversal specifications. Eyeball?s AnyFirewall Engine is the industry?s first ICE SDK (software development kit) to enable cable industry vendors to rapidly integrate firewall and NAT traversal into PacketCable applications, services and devices.

CableLabs, the technology consortium of cable system operators, has incorporated ICE support into the PacketCable? 2.0 specification. Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) is a set of techniques developed by the IETF to enable VoIP applications and devices to complete calls through firewalls and NATs. ICE has now been adopted as the single solution for VoIP firewall and NAT traversal for wireline, wireless, and cable networks.

?ICE is a powerful and complex methodology,? stated Dr. Shahadat Khan, Eyeball CTO and keynote speaker at the International SIP Conference, in Paris France. ?Eyeball has been working on ICE firewall and NAT traversal techniques since 2001. Today, Eyeball?s ICE SDK provides a compelling value proposition to the cable industry by significantly reducing the cost, risk, and time-to-market of ICE firewall and NAT traversal.?

ICE is quickly becoming the accepted standard for VoIP call completion. Leading vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, Nortel, Lucent Alcatel, Huawei, Avaya, Juniper, Tanberg, Nokia and Sony Ericsson have endorsed ICE, are engaged in ICE development or have licensed Eyeball?s AnyFirewall Engine.

The AnyFirewall Engine ICE SDK is available today for licensing and deployment.
