Wilibox Announces Version 5.02 Of Networking Software

Launch of new 5.02 WILI-S and WILI-MESH networking software.

-/Wi-Fi Technology News/-Wilibox announces new version 5.02 of networking software release. The new features increased overall performance and functionality. At the moment latest WILI-S supports four network platforms based on Atheros SoC, ADM 5120 and IXP42X (Wistron RDAT-81, Lanready AP1000, Zinwell ZW4400 and Compex WP54AG).

All other platforms are in on demand porting condition*. WILI-S software is known as very flexible, because prompt changes could be made by redesigning user interface in one –two days. This could be very attractive for VARs (Value Added Resellers) as additional value for the product can be added quickly by adjusting user interface to customer or scenario needs.

The feature set is very wide and suits the needs of every enterprise, operator or WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider). The features could be exposed through various configuration methods. Continuously Wilibox company is adding new features to fulfill the requirements of industry and customers. The main changes during the latest release are: PPPoE (Point-to-point protocol over Ethernet) support, which allows connecting WILI based device to cable or ADSL modem for wireless broadband access; DHCP 82 option support, which enables a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol relay agent to incorporate information about itself when forwarding client-originated DHCP packets to a DHCP server. The DHCP server can use this information to implement IP address or supplementary parameter-assign policies; dynamic VLANs - virtual LANs provide the ability to divide a switched Layer 2 network into multiple broadcast domains. Dynamic VLANs enable network administrators moving users from one location to another without making any changes on a switch when end-to-end VLANs are deployed; and half/quarter rates for AR5413 and AR5414 platforms.

Robustness of the software makes it stand out and such assurance is provided by telecoms and operators in Lithuania that are using WILI-S software for their services and already deployed thousands of wireless network devices with it.

*The software is ported on the different platform on one of the conditions:
• Agreed porting fee is paid;
• Contract is signed for a certain amount of licenses.
