Wireless@Beaumont Beats Competition To Win Australian Broadband Award
Hamilton, NSW, AUSTRALIA-/Wi-Fi Technology News/- The Hamilton Business District Committee announced that its free wireless initiative won a national award at the recent Australian Telecommunications Users Group?s 2008 awards ceremony. The wireless@beaumont project beat strong national competition to take out the award.
Wireless@beaumont is a free Wi-Fi hotzone covering almost 1 km of the CBD in Beaumont Street Hamilton, Newcastle. The RoamAD powered Wi-Fi network, is supplied by aCure Technology, the company behind the acclaimed metromesh network in Perth, WA.
The network, organised and maintained by The Hamilton Business District Committee, is funded by the businesses of Hamilton and various initiatives such as homepage banner advertising.
After a highly competitive review process, ATUG?s judges concluded that ?Among several innovative National wireless solutions, ?wireless@beaumont? stands out with a solid commercial business model and programmed rollout. Skype friendly and with extended free coverage over almost 1 km of the Hamilton CBD, ?wireless@beaumont? offers a unique wireless solution, webcam support, security surveillance, information terminals and a marketing portal for the businesses of Hamilton.?
