ADC?s Digivance ICS System Brings High-Quality Cellular Coverage

ADC?s Digivance ICS System Brings High-Quality Cellular Coverage For All Major Carriers at Mobil 5-Star Resort

-/Wi-Fi Technology News/- ADC announced that its Digivance? in-building coverage system (ICS) is now delivering multi-carrier cellular voice and data services in all guest areas at The Sanctuary, a world-class hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort near Charleston, South Carolina. While local provider SunCom (now part of T-Mobile) had previously deployed an ADC Digivance system for its own customers, the hotel wanted to enable coverage for users of AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon as well.

With the expansion of the Digivance system, the hotel now offers this multi-carrier coverage so that virtually every guest can make and receive calls.

?We host corporate events for companies all over the world, and we wanted to make sure that every guest would have good mobile reception in their rooms as well as throughout our facilities,? said Wayne Koeckeritz, director of engineering for The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. ?We had been getting excellent results from the Digivance system for a few years, so our obvious choice was to expand that system to include coverage for all of the other carriers in our area.?

The expanded system includes new rooftop masts to capture macro network signals from the major carriers, new Digivance ICS Host Units and Expansion Units in the hotel?s equipment room and some 45 Digital Remote Units (DRUs) with ceiling- and wall-mounted antennas throughout the hotel. The expansion took place over a 90-day period and services went live earlier this year.

?With its all-digital transmission system, the Digivance ICS solution delivers high signal strength and uniform coverage at each antenna point regardless of its distance from the main Host Unit,? said John Spindler, vice president of product management for ADC Network Solutions. ?This high performance and easy scalability allowed us to complete the multi-carrier expansion at The Sanctuary with minimal disruption to hotel guests, and helps us to extend our market leadership as the number one in-building cellular supplier for the hospitality industry.?

ADC?s Network Solutions business unit offers products that deliver high-performance wireless coverage and capacity to business and consumer subscribers in any indoor or outdoor location.
