The New Vx 700 Payment Solution Integrates With VeriFone’s SCR710

The New Vx 700 Payment Solution Integrates With VeriFone’s SCR710

Outdoor-Ready for Use in Kiosks, Vending Machines, Ticketing Devices and Other Unattended Systems

SAN JOSE, CA-/Wi-Fi Technology News/- VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY), today announced the Vx 700, an electronic payments module that delivers the power and security of the Verix V architecture to kiosks, vending machines, ticketing devices and other systems where cash has traditionally been the primary payment method.

Designed to meet stringent PCI PED and EMV security standards, the Vx 700 integrates with VeriFone’s SCR710 secure card reader and an external contactless payments interface to provide a powerful and flexible solution for multiple electronic payments options. The entire device, including keypad and high-resolution display, is built to fit into standard bill acceptor cutouts making it simple to extend support for magnetic stripe, chip cards and contactless payments into traditional cash-only kiosks, ticketing and vending machines.

“Consumers worldwide want to be able to use their cards for payment in any environment and the Vx 700 makes it easy for manufacturers and systems integrators to accommodate that demand in their self-service solutions,” said Paul Rasori, senior vice president, marketing. “Verix V developer tools and an extensive developer network enable Vx 700 customers to leverage existing certified payment applications or provide customized solutions for unique unattended environments.”

The Vx 700 is well-suited to applications such as parking payment machines that utilize low-power modes when idle, but must power up quickly when a customer is ready to use them. For vending applications, the Vx 700 is designed to meet both EVA and NAMA size specifications for maxi bill acceptors common to most machines deployed today. In addition to secure payment capabilities, the Vx 700 can be used as a vending machine controller or as a transit payments processing engine.

Featuring laser-engraved, petro-chemical resistant keys, vandal-resistant housing, an IP65 rating and capable of withstanding wide temperature variations, the Vx 700 is highly suited to outdoor use, from petroleum retailers to parking lots.
