4ipnet Releases Rack-Mountable 2-WAN-Port HSG1200 Wireless Hotspot Gateway



Taipei, Taiwan-/Wi-Fi Technology News/-4ipnet, Inc., a provider of wireless network security and management products, released its rack-mountable 2-WAN-port HSG1200 Wireless Hotspot Gateway, designed for the hotspot operator to serve multiple hotspot franchises in a public venue, such as a shopping mall through the unique Multi-Service-Zone feature, while each Service Zone can have its own login skin and an independent SSID.

The HSG1200 is also ideal for hospitality application (e.g. a resort or convention center) to effectively differentiate Internet access privileges of staff, coming customers, and VIP users.

To meet the needs of hotspot business operation, the HSG1200 is equipped with on-demand account generation and flexible billing capabilities - each guest account is associated to a price and a usage quota, either by time or volume. By supporting Ethernet connection to external terminal devices, cashiers or receptionists are easy to print out tickets/receipts via different terminals in different locations. For online payment options, HSG1200 supports self-service account purchase by credit card through Authorize.net, PayPal, or SecurePay. When the central billing has been implemented by the operator, HSG1200 also works with the existing RADIUS server. Furthermore, with HSG1200 providing site-to-site VPN tunnels across different locations, hotspot venues can securely connect with one another to share the same account database.

To ensure authorized network access, the HSG1200 supports multiple authentication methods such as POP3, RADIUS, LDAP, and external Web (HTTP or HTTPS) authentication, all of which can run simultaneously on different networks. To optimize and maintain network uptime and performance, HSG1200 has two built-in WAN ports that support dual uplinks for load balancing and failover. Additional advanced features that help manage and support up to 300 public users online at any time include bandwidth control, network policy enforcement, customizable user timer, login/logout webpage, online traffic monitoring, and URL redirection, etc. Running more Businesses?
