Aruba Wireless Networks To Offer Free Wi-Fi To Event And Conference Organizers Around The World

SAN JOSE, CA ? August 4, 2003 ? Aruba Wireless Networks today introduced ?Wi-Fi It? the first-of-its-kind program that offers Wi-Fi switching equipment and services at no cost to qualified event organizers around the world.

Under the Wi-Fi It program, Aruba Wireless Networks will provide WLAN switching gear, access points and on-site support personnel to qualified event organizers who want to bring attendees secure mobile connectivity in order to give them the most productive event experience possible.

Ideally suited for large Wi-Fi deployments, the Aruba 5000 is the only Wi-Fi system today that can, in real time, self-heal around failures, self-calibrate to ensure optimal performance and coverage and scale to support hundreds of simultaneous users. As a result, the Aruba 5000 WLAN switching system has proven the perfect platform for providing Wi-Fi access to attendees at large events.

Aruba has recently been asked to bring Wi-Fi to a number of large conferences and exhibitions such as the NetWorld+Interop conference and exhibition in Las Vegas (May 03), the Burton Group Catalyst conference in San Francisco (July 03) and the upcoming NetWorld+Interop conference and exhibition in Paris, France (Nov. 03).

?We think once you?ve tried Wi-Fi, you?ll never go back,? said Pankaj Manglik, president and CEO of Aruba Wireless Networks. ?Through supporting these large events, we?ve become experts at bringing Wi-Fi to large groups and wanted to make it easier for people to take advantage of the benefits of Wi-Fi switching in a creative and unconventional way,? concluded Manglik.
