IDC’s Asia/Pacific IP Convergence Conference 2003 on August 21st in Singapore to focus on real benefits of IP for Asia’s enterprises and service providers.

Singapore, August 7, 2003 – The IP wave is set to hit Asia in a big way and convergence is inevitable. At the August 21st Asia/Pacific IP Convergence Conference 2003, IDC senior analysts and industry players will address the issues and concerns of both enterprises and service providers on the hype and reality of IP, helping them to make informed decisions. A not-to-be-missed event for businesses who are looking to reduce costs and improve productivity through a converged network and service providers who are exploring business opportunities and growth with IP for enhanced customer service and increased profitability.
Sandra Ng, Vice President, Asia/Pacific Communications and Peripherals Research said, “Businesses and service providers in Asia are faced with a critical challenge of evolving their networks to provide a seamless experience anywhere on any device for both their mobile employees and global customers. We are seeing a growing push in the IP space, specifically IP-VPN and value-added services.”

To better address the needs of both enterprises and service providers, the conference encompasses two separate tracks. The Enterprise Conference addresses the key question “Is IP the answer for Asia’s enterprise?” where attendees will discover how IP can be a strategic business decision for the future success of the enterprise. IDC senior analysts, together with industry experts from Asia Netcom, Cisco Systems, HP, Norton Networks, Sprint and T-Systems International, will reveal the real benefits of IP, migration and deployment of IP networks, and how it will help deliver positive return on investments.

The Service Provider Conference, themed "Making IP profitable for service providers", will see IDC analysts and industry leaders from Convergys Corporation, EMC, Lucent Technologies and Oracle Corporation, providing insights on various IP revenue opportunities and new service creations, along with success stories from market players.

“This conference will address the apprehension of enterprises towards IP-VPN and convergence, and also create the push factor for service providers to consider offering creative IP solutions,” Ms. Ng added.

This regional conference kicks off in Singapore on August 21 at the Sheraton Towers and will be held in Sydney, Australia, Shanghai, China and Seoul, Korea on August 26, August 28 and Sepatember 4 respectively.
