Planet3 Wireless Includes Fortress Technologies as Part of its CWSP? Wireless Security Certification Program.

TAMPA, Fla. ? Planet3 Wireless, the creators of the Certified Wireless Network Professional? (CWNP?) Program announced a strategic partnership with Fortress Technologies, the leader in security for wireless networks, to create a unique training solution for IT professionals.

Planet3 Wireless has integrated Fortress Technologies? AirFortress wireless security solution into its Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP?) training program. Specifically, the ?hands-on? lab portion of Planet3?s CWNP curriculum will feature Fortress Technologies? Wireless Security Gateway. CWSP students install both the Gateway and the AF Secure Client, and then conduct several tests with protocol analyzers and network auditing tools to ensure the security of the wireless LAN traffic.

?Planet3 is excited to feature Fortress Technologies? solution in our CWNP curriculum,? said Kevin Sandlin, co-founder and chief executive officer, Planet3 Wireless. ?This solution is a good fit for IT professionals seeking advanced knowledge of wireless LAN security solutions. Fortress? solution is exceptional and together we have created a unique curriculum to advance the IT professional?s wireless security education.?

The CWSP certification is the second level of certification within the CWNP program and covers wireless LAN intrusion, WLAN security policy, and layer 2 and layer 3 WLAN security solutions including various authentication and security methods. CWSP is the first wireless LAN security certification of its kind and is currently being used by authorized CWNP Education Centers in the United States, Europe and Asia. The program, along with significant hands-on networking experience, will help prepare IT professionals for the CWSP certification exam. Earning the CWSP certification proves that an IT professional understands the methods that are used to compromise today?s wireless LANs and the various vendor solutions used to protect WLANs.

?Fortress Technologies believes professional certifications are critical in the ever-changing technology industry and Planet3?s course is a crucial step in the continued success of securing wireless networks,? said Ken Evans, vice president, product marketing for Fortress Technologies. ?With proper training, IT professionals will have a better understanding of the security market and how AirFortress has been architected to protect critical wireless applications and networks.

Fortress Technologies has achieved market-leader status with a growing list of marquis customers including Carolinas HealthCare, U.S. Army, Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Air Force, Defense Commissary Agency and numerous commercial/enterprise customers.
