The O2 X1 Camera Phone available in the UK, Germany and Ireland in November

FOR CHRISTMAS

Sheffield, UK and Worldwide, October 29, 2003 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- O2 customers in the UK will be able to buy the best value colour clam-style camera phone on the market from 1 November. Exclusive to O2, the O2 X1 will be available free of charge with a post-pay contract from O2 Stores and O2 Online, and will cost up to ?49.99 at third party outlets. The UK pre-pay price will be ?169.991 It will be available in Germany from 17 November and in Ireland around the same time.

With a 65,000 colour, high-resolution screen and a rotating integrated camera, O2 believes that the O2 X1 gives the best image quality of any other mobile currently available in its class. Users can store up to 100 high-resolution photos or about 10 Java games on the handset. In addition to the standard phone features, the O2 X1 also includes 40 ring-tones and 2 pre-installed Java games. The O2 X1 has a compact stylish design and weighs just 85 grams.

Launched in time for the Christmas market, the O2 X1 offers a 'hot button' access key to O2 Active - a branded colour menu with specially designed, intuitive icons that guide customers to services including polyphonic ring-tones, multimedia messaging (MMS), colour java games, information, alerts and pictures. O2 Active has already received good reviews from customers and has been proven to increase usage of the range of services now available.
