Leveraging fixed line and mobile telecom expertise
9th & 10th December 2003 - The Thistle Selfridge Hotel, London
Sheffield, UK and Worldwide, November 6, 2003 /The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/-The importance of access to e-mail, internet and corporate intranets is no longer confined to the office. With the increase in popularity for laptop or notebook computers starting to eat into the monopoly once held by desktop, PC users are increasingly becoming more mobile in their use of computing technology. Laptop and tablet PCs are believed to account for 26% of all new PC shipments, with around 33 million expected to be shipped in 2003. Visiongain believes that by 2006, 90% of all corporate users' laptops will include wi-fi capability.
The 'Public W-LAN' conference will focus on the adoption of W-LAN by the business community outside the corporate office and by venues hoping to capture a share of revenues or boost their core product sales. The conference will examine take-up of wireless services in airports, hotels, coffee houses, restaurants, train stations, petrol stations, trains and aeroplanes.
