Avaya Announce New Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro UK

Avaya Inks New Converged Network Infrastructure Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro UK

GUILDFORD , UK /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, announced a new distribution agreement with Ingram Micro UK to boost the converged network infrastructure side of its multi-channel strategy. The agreement, which will take effect 15 January 2004, will support Avaya's position as a global leader in IP telephony* and give resellers and customers greater choice.

Ingram Micro's Network Services organisation will, for the first-time in the UK, become a distributor of Avaya's converged communications systems, complementing an existing distribution agreement in Hungary. Under the new agreement, Ingram Micro will be targeting medium and large organisations by focusing on several hundred data network resellers in the UK. The agreement will allow Ingram Micro to leverage its experience in the data network infrastructure market to take advantage of the growth in convergence with Avaya's award-winning MultiVantage? IP telephony-based software applications and hardware.

Clive Sawkins, vice-president, Avaya UK and Ireland comments: "Ingram Micro's strength as a global IT distributor and Avaya as a leader in IP telephony is a powerful combination to kick off 2004 and address the high-growth area of convergence in the UK."

Kevin Vine, managing director of Ingram Micro Network Services, added: "Partnering with Avaya represents a great opportunity for us and our resellers to benefit from Avaya's MultiVantage? Communication Manager portfolio of communication networks, and its services expertise. In particular we will be able to offer customers scalable networks with applications such as unified communication and interactive response that are helping organisations to drive productivity and customer service."

Ingram Micro Network Services will accredit its pre-sales engineers for: Avaya's Media Servers and Gateways; open standards-based MultiVantage? Communications Applications including: Avaya Communication Manager for IP telephony; Unified Messenger?; VSU range of virtual private network hardware and software; Wireless LAN access points and services such as EXPERTSystems? remote systems monitoring and EXPERTNet?, an IP telephony network readiness assessment. Also, Ingram Micro Network Services has developed joint marketing programmes with Avaya including a series of convergence education seminars held at Avaya's Business Convergence Centre (BCC) in Guildford. The BCC aims to increase understanding of how organisations can develop business convergence strategies to improve customer relationships, reduce costs and gain competitive advantage. It showcases Avaya's current and future converged communication networks and services.
