RAD Closes 2003 With Growth in Worldwide Sales
Tel Aviv, January 14, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- RAD Data Communications has announced that its global sales in 2003 reached $132 million, an increase of three percent over 2002.
?We are cautiously optimistic about 2004,? states Efraim Wachtel, President and CEO of RAD Data Communications. ?Our 2003 orders were up eight percent over 2002 figures, and we interpret that as a sign that RAD will be among those profitable manufacturers that will lead the telecommunications industry on its road to recovery in the year ahead,? he notes. ?Beyond our own success, we see many indications that the market is recovering in a number of key countries, that customers are more optimistic and that they are planning to increase their investments in communications networks.?
RAD recorded an impressive sales growth of 18 percent in Western Europe, 15 percent in Central and Eastern Europe and 13 percent in North America. Sales of its LA family of integrated access devices (IADs) jumped 39 percent globally, while its ACE line of ATM access products climbed by 31 percent. In addition, the company?s new Vmux voice trunking gateways were particularly well received during 2003.
Strong Brand Recognition, Broad Product Range and Positioning
?We are especially satisfied with these results given the general state of the telecommunications market worldwide,? Wachtel adds. ?We attribute this sales growth to our strong brand recognition among our traditional carrier customers, to our broad range of products and to our product positioning, which very much reflects the future of the marketplace,? he explains. ?Our expertise in wireless backhaul, for example, will enable us to capitalize on the expected growth in mobile and WiFi communications, our sales of DSL access equipment will increase as broadband continues to expand and our development of TDM over IP technology for voice-data integration will continue to attract enterprise customers eager to reduce communications costs,? Wachtel predicts.
