Parks Associates’ Pre-Show Workshop to Highlight Key Opportunities for Broadband

Dallas, TX, January 22, 2004 /The Wi-Fi Technology Forum/- Parks Associates will host The Connected Consumer: Opportunities & Challenges Facing Broadband Providers, a pre-show workshop for Broadband Wireless World 2004 in San Diego, CA, on February 23, 2004.
Broadband Wireless World, February 24-25, 2004, is the premier, objective, industry-wide networking event focusing on the business case for deploying fixed and portable wireless networks.

Parks Associates’ pre-show workshop will present information and analysis on the competitive landscape for broadband-enabled networking services and the unlicensed broadband wireless industry, including detailed primary data from Parks’ recent consumer surveys. Parks Associates expects revenues for unlicensed broadband wireless services to grow from $254 million in 2003 to $1.95 billion in 2008.

“The economics of offering competitive broadband services have become increasingly attractive,” said Michael Greeson, vice president of research and strategy for Parks Associates. “With new last-mile technologies such as unlicensed broadband wireless, as well as a host of value-added services, even small operators can make money in residential broadband.”

Topics for this workshop include hot spots and broadband wireless services, the adoption and role of home networks, connected data and entertainment services in the home, and successful marketing strategies that will attract consumers to these advanced products and services.

The Connected Consumer: Opportunities & Challenges Facing Broadband Providers will take place at the San Diego Convention Center on Monday, February 23, 2004, from 1:00-5:00 P.M. Parks Associates is also offering a special discount for its recently published report Unlicensed Broadband Wireless: Solutions and Applications to all workshop attendees.
