A Euro-China Workshop on Home Networks and Platforms to be held in Beijing (PR China), on April 27, 2004

February 12, 2004 /Wi-Fi Technology News/- Organised within the framework of the BIP IST project and under the aegis of the European Commission and of the Chinese authorities, a Euro-China Workshop on Home Networks and Platforms is organised in Beijing (Beijing International Convention Centre) on April 27, 2004.

The workshop is open to any European or Chinese organisations but pre-registrations are compulsory (see registration form http://www.ist-bip.org/news_content/eHome/EU-China_eHome_W_RegisForm.pdf). This event aims at giving European and Chinese organisations active in this field a unique opportunity to meet and network, exchange information and visions, and possibly initiate or strengthen cooperation projects.

During the workshop, presentations will be made by European and Chinese organisations (see workshop draft agenda http://www.ist-bip.org/news_content/eHome/EU-China_eHome_W_Agenda.pdf). Presentations from European organisations will essentially focus on the status and perspectives of ongoing FP5 and FP6 projects included in the portfolio of the D2 Unit (http://www.cordis.lu/ist/directorate_d/audiovisual/index.htm)of DG Information Society. On April 26, European workshop delegates will also be invited by the Chinese authorities to visit leading Chinese organisations and pilot sites.

These visits and the Workshop are included in the programme of the "EU-China IT week" (April 26-30,2004), that is also made up of a Asia IT&C workshop (http://europa.eu.int/comm/europeaid/projects/asia-itc), the 2nd EU-China Workshop on Digital Olympics (http://www.eurochina-it.org/news.html#2euchinaworkshop), the 3rd meeting of the EU-China Working Group on Digital Olympics, and a meeting of the EU-China Information Society Working Group.
